HOMILY FOR WEDNESDAY 30TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR 1 (27/10/2021)

Romans 8:26-30; Psalm 13; Luke 13:22-30

Paul says; “… all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” ( Rom. 8:28).  God works all things together for good—both His good and our good. As God is glorified, His people are sanctified. God is all-knowing, all-wise, and all-powerful. Therefore, those who love God can trust His goodness, His power, and His will to work out all things for our good. We may struggle with certain disappointments but God sees the bigger picture and he has the master plan. Don’t give up on God, love Him and all things surely will work for your good. In the gospel Jesus says;  “some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.” Beloved, if we put Jesus first we shall not come last either in this world or in the world to come.

LET US PRAY

Almighty ever-living God, increase our faith, hope and charity, and make us love what you command, so that we may merit what you promise. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
