Parents-Teachers Association (PTA). Both parents and teachers help to bring up children so that they will be good people for themselves and the society. Most teachers are parents as well. Therefore, all parents are to provide the necessary food, clothing, shelter and medical care insofar as they are able. They are equally responsible for providing sound education and a sound knowledge of their religion as well as moral training of their children. Please don’t joke with Sacred and Sound learning.

Education is one of the most powerful weapons which we can use to change the world (Nelson Mandela). Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today. Most parents and teachers have been doing their best even though they have to do more. ‘The Church and the state still get their own for body.’ Anyways that aside, ‘we don dey this country already’.

Teenagers today can shock anybody, just as if we have seen it all yet every new day leaves us with a frightened scene from these teenagers. Okey Nwachukwu wrote “Immorality has gone far in destroying the lives of our quotable ‘leaders of tomorrow’ and like a rotten fish, you might even say egg, it stinks in our nation today. Immorality is also a behavior which is synonymous with corruption, dishonesty, illegality and a host of other vices.”

‘The wahala big!’ Therefore, we must sound the bell: Parents, Teachers and Guardians there is an increased rate of teenage pregnancy – ‘Children just dey born children anyhow’. Teenage prostitution, perverse sexual behaviours among teenagers. Worst still many teenage ritualists and scammers – “Benefits boys” they say. For the big boys in this game, topic for another day. But for now, let us handle the children first. Its never too late. My big questions today are (1) What can we do to give the best future to our children? (2) Why is sex education not yet taught in many Nigerian schools?
