Zephaniah 3:14:18; Psalm Isaiah 12:2-6; Luke 1:39-56
The Church celebrates the visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Elizabeth. We have so much to learn from this visit. First of all, we must learn to visit our loved ones. We must learn to visit those in need, the sick, the aged and the lonely. Again, at that visit Elizabeth was filled with Joy. Beloved, pleasantries bring so much joy. The first reading calls us to rejoice for the Lord has visited us. Let us extend this joy to those around us as Jesus visits us daily in the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
LET US PRAY
Almighty ever-living God, who, while the Blessed Virgin Mary was carrying your Son in her womb, inspired her to visit Elizabeth, grant us, we pray, that, faithful to the promptings of the Spirit, we may magnify your greatness with the Virgin Mary at all times. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
