Call to Discipleship

DAY THREE

Luke 5:11

Meditation

“We have to deny ourselves” is an invitation to renounce the world. In Luke 5:11 we are told that when the disciples brought their boats to the shore, they left everything and followed Him. In Luke 14:33 Jesus says “whoever does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.” To renounce all or to “leave everything” or to “deny ourselves” is an invitation to absolute renunciation. If we want to follow Jesus we must be able to renounce everything and follow him. One way to renounce and everything is to reject satan. Just as we confessed on our baptism “Do you reject satan and all his empty promises? we responded “I do”. This call to reject satan, is very necessary today. For some of us we just need to renounce lies and our life will be better. For some we need to renounce stealing and our business will grow. For some others it may be renunciation of gossip, pride, malice and envy and we shall be saved. Every disciple must renounce something.

Prayer

1 Hail Mary 21 times and Thank you Jesus 21 times.

2 Bible Study: Judges 16

3 Lessons:

We must learn to renounce the activities of the flesh.

4 Silence (5 to 10 minutes) (write down your own lessons; learn to hear from God and write down whatever God says to you)

5 The Litany to the Precious Blood of Jesus (as given on the first day)

6 Intercessory Prayers:

I reject, revoke and renounce my membership of any of the following evil associations. Jezebel spirits, Marine spirits and all other occult societies in Jesus name. I withdraw and cancel my name from their registers with the blood of Jesus.

Father give me the grace to renounce materialism and pursuit of money. For you blessed all those who seek you first.

  1. Memory verse: Judges 16:6

So Delilah said to Samson, “Tell me the secret of your great strength and how you can be tied up and subdued.”
