2 Kings 25:1-12; Psalm 136; Matthew 8:1-4🗣🔥🔥🔥

In the first reading, we are presented with the breakdown of how Jerusalem was destroyed; the famine in the land, the attack against Zedekiah the King and his sons, and the demolition of the magnificent Temple of Solomon by the Babylonians. They succeeded in this battle because the people abandoned their God. No one rejects God and remains relevant. John 15:5 says cut away from me you can do nothing. And so, a leper knelt before Jesus in the gospel text and said to him, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” Jesus said to him “I will; be clean.” And immediately he was cleansed. Beloved, Christ is always willing to help those who come to him in faith and trust. If we abandon him we shall be mocked and ruined even in the least of life battles.

Act of Hope and Confidence after Holy Communion

My soul, confide in Jesus. He can do thee every good. He is God and He loves thee. In the Blessed Eucharist He is sweet and mild and generous. Urged by love, He comes to manifest His love to thee. Yes, my dear Jesus, Thou art my hope and my salvation. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in Thee. I trust, O Lord, that Thou wilt enkindle in my heart the flame of Thy pure love, and a real desire to please Thee; so that, from this day forward, I may never will anything but what Thou willest. Amen.
