2 Timothy 4:1-8; Psalm 71; Mark 12:38-44🔥🔥🔥🗣
In today’s first reading, Paul encouraged Timothy to go out and preach about Christ and to make that his life’s work. Every Christian has the life’s work to be a witness. As Christians, witness is our business. In the Gospel, Christ warns about being too flashy in our religious practice. A true witness is rather like the poor widow who gave all she had quietly, an ardent reminder of the kind of faith, sacrifice and love we are called to express. Therefore, what God wants from us is our hearts, and for some, that can be the hardest thing to give.
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
