Acts 12:24-13:5; Psalm 66; John 12:44-50
In the first reading, through the Holy Spirit Paul and Barnabas were set apart, prayed over and sent for mission. At baptism, we have been set apart, not to fall apart but to make impart. The Church is a missionary Church. The greatness of the Church is not in her seating capacities but in her sending capacities. If the Church does not send it may end. In General Mission all of us have been sent to witness to Christ as light. In Particular Mission, individual priest or religious is sent as light into the world to dispel darkness as Jesus said in the gospel. Lord, help us to shine.
Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
